More power to Dan Brown

Love him or hate him, Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code will not stop selling.

And now he's got even more reason to laugh all the way to the bank (movie notwithstanding) because Brown is now vindicated because a British judge ruled that he did not pliagarise from Baigent and Leigh's The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail.

This para made me chuckle:

Baigent and Leigh were denied leave to appeal and face a legal bill of over 1 million pounds ($1.75 million), although an increase in sales of their own book as a result of the publicity surrounding the case may ease the pain.

I'm not ashamed to say I like the book, and that I was greatly affected by it, being a Christian. Even though it is a work of fiction, it raises a lot of issues about our faith that we never questioned simply because we shouldn't. And any book that does that is worth reading – no matter how low-brow or predictable it is.

Wonder what he's writing next (not that he needs the money). As the Hokkiens say, jiak beh liao already!

When will I start my bestseller?…
