These kids you raise one issit?

That was the question my husband teasingly asked me as I laughed hard for what must have been 20 minutes, when Raeven discovered that her sister flattened her play ladle from her kitchen set. Upon discovering the condition of the misshapened thing, she went:

“Oh no! Mei Mei (Mandarin for ‘little sister’) flattened my spoon!!”

She paused, looking sorrowfully at her once perfectly-angled ladle, her highly-tuned, four-year-old brain working hard to make sense of it all.

And then her eyes lit up.

“…now it’s a vacuum cleaner!” she declared with renewed earnestness, before running off with said mangled toy to purportedly clean her ‘house’ (made from couch cushions).
