To buy or not to buy

As some of you may know, Lokes and I have been agonising over the issue of buying a home since we've arrived in the States. We've looked. We've stopped looking. We're looking again. Before this, we wanted to instead get Lokes his Masters. And then we thought about the money we're spending paying rent which could instead go into in the equity of an owned home. And then we thought about the fact that we don't have much downpayment since we didn't sell our home back in Malaysia, which could make a big diff in the financing.

Decisions, decisions.

Lokes 'invests' in Megamillions and sometimes, we indulge in a little daydreaming where we buy our friends new lives and spend our newfound fortunes travelling and coming up with the cure for cancer. Of course, we also buy the house we want, you know, the one with the lakeside mooring for his yacht and the one in the Greek Isles, also with mooring although neither of us know anything about sailing that's worth crap.

Aahhh, imagination. A luxury for the poor.

Welp. Guess I'd better get crackin' on that bestseller today.

If you guys can get a good financing, why not? I mean, even if you decide to move, you can always sell the house and get at least something back… As opposed to renting where you will never see this money again.

I wish our credit history wasn’t so crappy so we could buy something of our own.

Thing is we don’t have any downpayment! Sigh. Looks like desperate times call for desperate measures.

    Buy more lottery tickets! 😀
